13-The Starter House
Autumn is coming and went looking at the starter houses in Willow Creek, and thought to build one and so I did. Keeping the cost below the 20,000 threshold, I got the one bedroom built, now I need someone living in it. I have about three or four houses with unplayed sims located in the apartments in the city that MCCC was taking care of. I found the young adult, Theodore Rasoya, gregarious, bookworm, cat lover, and loves dancing, living with five other sims, and thought to be a good candidate. When I went to split, I found that he was already married and had a baby daughter. His wife, Maki, is a tad older than Ted, is evil, bookworm, muser, art lover, and responsible, the last one a bit of a surprise since I never played this sim.
Here the couple first come onto their new home, with the infant already nestled inside her bassinet. The new paint smell fill the breeze, they seem excited over their new neighborhood.
Maki had no job and the house caring fell on her on the reasoning that she already maxed out on the handiness skill and halfway on cooking. Whereas, Ted, had nothing over a 2 for skills, but he was at a level 5 in the tech guru career track, bringing home 450. from work. Maki aspiration was in writing, which is a good trade to be in, it just they only had one computer.
But they did have the little one, Krysta, still in the crib and soon to become a toddler. A small home, but after moving in they had around 4,000 left in the bank after purchasing. The house contained the necessities to build on to the next level, but it was not design with a baby in mind, so this is a good test.
Maki just after feeding Krysta which must of been early morning since that seemed to be her feeding time. Ted is probably getting ready to go to work, shower, eat and go and Maki will write a book.
Maki, even though being evil, was very capable of being a good mother. Krysta is now learning the flash cards basics, while Ted dances to the radio. Space is tight, especially with the highchair which causes a squeeze to the bathroom. Krysta learning capabilities was quite impressive, for all the toddlers I went through, she has be the brightest. She is definitely getting the genius trait, but right now she is angel.
Ted is thinking it wouldn't be soon that they can afford a bigger house and maybe go for a boy. Maki was a happy about that. Ted was close to a promotion and Maki was able to self-publish her first children's book, so the income was looking good.
Krysta obtaining the lessons of what is square and what is round. Her bed replaced the basinet which causes another squeeze point getting to the dresser. Definitely possible though and giving that urge to move on.
Maki was keen handiness. At a party, the DJ Booth had a short so Maki got her trusty screwdriver out and got the party going again. And it was raining.
It took no time to fix things, so she starting upgrading. Low end appliances and plumbing, things that need to be upgraded.
Krysta loved to dance, Maki gives her some lessons after breakfast. With her dancing her walking skills improved rapidly. Now I need to dress her.
Morning breakfast, music going, Krysta dancing, hot pancakes it was a good start of the day with a bit of romance in the air. It's a pity one must go to work on days like this.
After having her mother put her down from the highchair, Krysta goes dancing in her new outfit. The music sounded out the thump that came from the bathroom.
Maki, shorted out in the bathroom. No movement. All sim's functions are not functioning.
Krysta wonders out into the front yard and starts a bad habit unknowingly to her or her father who was at work that Grimm was paying a visit.
Grimm checks the numbers for confirmation and the latest stock reports. The day that started so well ended up not so well.
We have a sad toddler and a sad father. It was time to do some hugs.
Ted was able to get Krysta to sleep.
But there was no one to read Ted to sleep.
Krysta got her new PJs for the upcoming winter. It was a new day for her and and it started with a smile. But the atmosphere was depressed and the smile was lost.
What was going so smoothly has now turned into misery. Ted must muster out the tasks at hand and keep a level mind. He has a daughter to care for, a house to care for, and his job. Living in Willow Creek as a starter, his contacts to the outside world was short. To get out he needed to use up his vacation time and hire a nanny which he detested the whole idea. His half eaten dinner from last night still on the counter.
The starter house didn't have a good start.
